As the new Senior Director R&D PMO it is expected that you will lead and develop the function according to current and future requirements. Being the first in the PMO function, the Senior Director R&D PMO will therefore take a highly active approach and be hands on in projects concerning Pharmacosmos investigational drug portfolio.

Ensure the advancement of Pharmacosmos investigational drug portfolio


As the Senior Director R&D PMO for Pharmacosmos, you will report to the EVP, CMO, and provide strategic and operational guidance for the PMO, defining its direction, developing structures, and implementing advanced project management systems and tools. In this role, you will lead high-priority R&D projects and supervise other R&D project leads. This includes steering cross-functional R&D project teams through all stages of drug development, ensuring alignment with goals and strategies, and facilitate the transfer of investigational drug projects into Pharmacosmos from Business Development activities. Moreover, you will collaborate with clinical development, regulatory affairs, CMC development, medical affairs, and marketing teams to align project objectives and strategies. The role also encompasses monitoring and reporting on project progress, providing executive management with essential insights and updates as well as managing risk assessment, mitigation, budgeting and forecasting processes for R&D projects, ensuring timely issue resolution. As a member of the corporate R&D Product Development Committee, you will ensure the development team's perspective is represented in strategy discussions. Finally, you will promote a culture of continuous improvement within the PMO, enhancing project management capabilities, effectiveness, and value delivery.

Experienced R&D Project Director


We expect you to hold a Masters degree within the Life Science field and possess 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, specifically focused on project management of R&D projects. Likewise, you have a robust understanding of the pharmaceutical drug development process, encompassing Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC), pre-clinical, clinical, regulatory approval processes, and commercialization. Moreover, your expertise includes utilizing project management systems and solutions such as MS Project, and you excel in leading without formal authority and effectively navigating a matrix organization.

Personally, you possess strong negotiation skills as well as substantial leadership qualities. Your ability to foster strong cross-functional teamwork facilitates the building of collaborative relationships to achieve common goals. Demonstrating excellent organizational and planning skills, you can work independently to drive complex organizational processes. Lastly, you are characterized by being adaptable and efficient, which enables you to prioritize work in a fast-paced and growing environment.
