Pharmacosmos establishes Canadian affiliate to strengthen market presence

Pharmacosmos today announced the establishment of a new Canadian affiliate, marking an important step in strengthening the company’s long-term presence in Canada. The new organisation, headquartered in Mississauga, just west of Toronto, will initially employ approximately 40 people.

“Canada is a highly attractive market for Pharmacosmos, with a well-established healthcare system and strong long-term potential,” says Claes C. Strøm, Chief Commercial Officer at Pharmacosmos. “By establishing our own local organisation while building on existing partnerships, we believe we can further accelerate growth in Canada.”

Pharmacosmos has appointed Michal Juul Sørensen as Managing Director for Canada. He joined Pharmacosmos in November and brings extensive international experience from Lundbeck, including several years as Managing Director in Canada.

“Michal has the right profile and experience to build and scale our Canadian organisation,” says Claes C. Strøm. “His deep knowledge of the Canadian market, combined with a strong understanding of how Danish pharmaceutical companies operate, makes him an excellent fit for Pharmacosmos.”

The establishment of the Canadian affiliate also supports Pharmacosmos’ broader growth ambitions and preparations for future product launches in the region.

“Canada represents an important strategic market for us,” says Claes C. Strøm. “Our presence in the country will serve as a strong platform for introducing additional products and supporting our future business development activities.”
