Are you an experienced chemist with a passion for process development and innovation in synthetic APIs? Join our dynamic team in Holbæk as a Senior Chemist and play a key role in advancing chemical and pharmaceutical development both internally and with our CDMO partners.
As a Senior Chemist, you will be at the forefront of API process development, leading and coordinating key activities from early design through to scale-up and technology transfer. This is a role where scientific depth meets operational execution.
Key responsibilities
Project coordination:
Lead synthetic API development across internal teams and CDMO partners, ensuring timely delivery and clear technical communication.
Process development:
Design and optimize synthetic routes using QbD and DoE principles, supporting scale-up, tech transfer, and process improvements for yield, purity, and sustainability.
Documentation:
Prepare and review technical reports and regulatory documents (e.g., IMPD/IND, CMC) in compliance with global standards.
Laboratory work:
Conduct limited hands-on lab work (approx. 1 day/week) and mentor junior staff in experimental planning and data analysis.
Cross-functional collaboration:
Collaborate with QA, Regulatory, Analytical, and Manufacturing teams to support development, validation, and scale-up.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced chemist with a strong background in synthetic organic chemistry and API process development. The ideal candidate holds a Ph.D. or M.Sc. complemented with min. 10 years of experience and brings over a decade of hands-on industry experience, including collaboration with CDMOs and regulatory documentation. You are confident in applying QbD and DoE principles, thrive in cross-functional environments, and can manage complex projects with minimal supervision. Strong leadership, clear communication, and a structured, results-oriented mindset are essential to succeed in this role.
